The Banner Structure: One New + Three Natlan Reruns

According to trusted source Homdcat, Version 5.8 features:

New 5★ character: Ineffa (Electro polearm)
Reruns: Mualani, Chaska, and Citlali

This structure is unusual. Typically, HoYoverse spreads reruns across regions or includes Archons, Liyue/Mondstadt favorites, or big meta units. Here, we’re getting three reruns from Natlan, all at once.

Who is Ineffa?

Ineffa is Genshin’s first official Nod Krai character, styled with a futuristic robotic aesthetic. She:

Wields an Electro polearm
Summons a mech companion that deals AoE Electro damage
Provides shielding that scales with ATK
Boosts EM, making her ideal for reaction-based teams

She’s designed as a support, not a main DPS. What makes her more intriguing is the leak suggesting she’s built to synergize with a new character launching in Version 6.0. Her release could be a forward-looking setup for Nod Krai’s regional mechanics.

Why Three Natlan Reruns?

The rerun lineup includes:

Mualani (5.0)
Chaska (5.2)
Citlali (5.3)

All Natlan characters. All making their first rerun in the same patch. This is rare, but there’s a reason for it: Version 5.8 is the final patch of Natlan.

HoYoverse tends to ensure every limited 5★ character gets at least one rerun per region. If Mualani, Chaska, and Citlali weren’t rerun now, they’d be locked out of another chance entirely. Similar patterns occurred in:

Sumeru’s final patch: Reruns for Cyno, Alhaitham
Fontaine’s final patch: Reruns for Neuvillette, Lyney

This may explain the 5.8 structure—but that doesn’t mean it’s the whole story.

The Wriothesley Exception

Wriothesley released in Version 4.1 and never received a rerun throughout all of Fontaine. While Neuvillette and Lyney got two or more, he was left out entirely, frustrating players who skipped or missed him.

5.8’s rerun lineup could be HoYoverse avoiding that same backlash. By front-loading the reruns now, they’re clearing the Natlan backlog before shifting to 6.0.

The Lack of Variety Feels… Intentional?

Even if the rerun logic checks out, it doesn’t explain why there’s no Liyue, Mondstadt, Inazuma, Archons, or meta favorites in 5.8. That’s extremely rare for a patch leading into a new region.

So what’s missing? Possibly: A surprise banner.

Is a Chronicled Wish Coming?

No leakers have confirmed it. HoYoverse hasn’t teased it. But there’s precedent:

In Version 5.6, a Chronicled Wish was kept completely secret until the livestream.
It included characters like Yoimiya, Yae Miko, and Kokomi.

It allowed HoYoverse to quietly rerun long-overdue characters without altering the standard banner structure. The same might happen in 5.8.

If so, we could see:

Characters like Albedo, Yae Miko, or Eula return
A final Primogem drain before the meta reset of 6.0

It would also explain the lack of variety in the main banners, as older characters could be rerun elsewhere.

Final Thoughts: Setup for Version 6.0?

While 5.8 appears basic at first glance, it’s clearly a transitional patch:

Introduces the first Nod Krai character
Possibly sets the stage for Chronicled Wish reruns
