With Genshin Impact Version 5.6 right around the corner, things are looking very exciting—not just for new characters, but for older ones too. In a new video, Zajef Daily dives deep into the data and early talent leaks to reveal what might be one of the biggest under-the-radar buffs Neuvillette has ever received.
Let’s break it all down, from new character synergies to how a mysterious new unit could reshape Neuvillette’s strongest teams.
A New Healer Who Changes Everything?
The spotlight here is on a new character (nicknamed “Early Chef”) whose leaked passive shreds up to 45% Cryo and Hydro Resistance depending on how many Cryo or Hydro characters are in the party. Crucially, this only requires one Cryo and one Hydro to activate—meaning it’s incredibly easy to trigger in Neuvillette teams, which often already include a Cryo unit like Charlotte or Shenhe for melt setups.
What makes this so significant is that Neuvillette’s teams have historically struggled with buff uptime and rotation length, especially when relying on Swirl (e.g., Kazuha) for resistance shred. But if this new unit can apply consistent and passive RES shred without requiring Swirl? That’s a massive quality-of-life upgrade.
An Actual Neuvillette Buff?
Zajef dives into the math and theorycrafting, showing how this unit’s passive changes Neuvillette’s team rotations:
- No more reliance on VV (Veridescent Venerer) for Cryo/Hydro RES shred
- Potentially shorter rotations—from 28 seconds down to 25 seconds
- More uptime on Neuvillette’s damage windows
- A shielded team thanks to Citlali, further improving survivability
All of this adds up to a very real buff, even if this new unit does no damage herself.
Even better: Neuvillette’s Constellation 0 gets the biggest benefit. Losing time refreshing buffs has always been a pain point in his optimal rotation. Now, it’s possible to maintain similar damage with fewer resets and smoother rotations, allowing him to be more accessible to players without heavy investment.
How Much Stronger Is This Team?
In raw numbers, Zajef shows that with this passive in play:
- C0 Neuvillette with Citlali and this new Cryo/Hydro shredder reaches ~85% of the damage of his best Kazuha setups
- With the improved rotations and smoother uptime, this translates to just a ~4% difference—but now with shielding, more stability, and potentially Freeze uptime
That makes this new team setup not only competitive, but in many cases, more practical for Spiral Abyss clears and other high-pressure combat scenarios.
And This is Assuming He Does Nothing Else
Here’s the wild part: All this analysis assumes the new unit only has the passive RES shred and minor healing. If her kit ends up including meaningful personal damage or additional buffs?
This could go from a moderate Neuvillette buff to a game-changing upgrade, especially in quickswap melt or freeze comps.
What About C1 Neuvillette?
Interestingly, Zajef notes that this change is less impactful for C1 Neuvillette players. That’s because the third stack of Neuvillette’s passive (from C1) gives a huge power spike, while the differences between stack one and two are relatively small.
But even then, the rotation quality and team comfort improvements are still worthwhile.
TL;DR – This Is (Probably) a Neuvillette Buff
If the leaked data holds true, and this new Cryo/Hydro support is a healer with long-lasting RES shred, then Neuvillette just got a huge upgrade in Version 5.6.
Even ifhe doesn’t do damage, his impact could be as big as Yelan’s or Shenhe’s when they first released. It’s not just another Cryo unit—it’s a whole new reason to rethink team comps built around Neuvillette.
